This mess on the southwest corner of Ko Samui was another big resort under construction. Resort building in the area was definitely a bubble which burst with the economic downturn in 2008. The existing resorts seemed far from full, houses on the islands were difficult to sell and this project may never get finished. This was one of the real eyesores on what must once have been a beautiful tropical island.
